The Campers
The Campers
Here they are: the Mad May Mountaineers
Katya Eliot Lysander
Katya Eliot Lysander
I tried to get individual photos of all of the campers, but I missed some people. This is my partner, Katya.
Peter Malcolm
Peter Malcolm
This is Peter Malcolm, doing his "Blair Witch" impersonation.
Matt Bourque
Matt Bourque
Matt. Extrememly competent. He works with me at Triton College--he's the scenic designer there. Matt and his partner Araidia were in charge of the food for the trip.
Araidia Blackburn
Araidia Blackburn
Another very cool person. The two of them (Matt and Araidia) planned, bought, and cooked all of the food for the trip, and it was wonderful! Grits, tofu dogs, rice and beans... they even made cheesecake one night!
Hannah Bass
Hannah Bass
You'd never guess that she was in the Israeli Army... except that she woke up at five in the morning on the first day and went for a two-mile run along the trail. She was the Fun Coordinator, which included camp songs, Uno, and lots of impromptu activities ("It's Memorial Day! Lie down behind those rocks and pretend we're soldiers!"--this after five miles, still with a heavy pack on our backs)

The Trail, 1
Please note the varied environment through which we hiked. It was lovely.
Me, as a Pirate
Me, as a Pirate
The reason that there are so many photos of me is not merely my overwhelming vanity, it is also because I was using the digital camera as a mirror every day.
End of the Trail
End of the Trail
By the end of the trail, as you can see, I was looking more and more disheveled. Katya gave me the posey in my hair.
Hannah's Tent
Hannah
Hannah brought a four person tent, but refused to use it. She slept outside, under a variety of tarp arrangements of her own creation.
Timeless Topics
Timeless Topics
I don't know what this symbolizes, but we had a lot of wonderful camp fires.
Mars Cheese Castle
Mars Cheese Castle
Finally, what trip to Wisconsin would be complete without a visit to the world famous "Mars Cheese Castle"?
Lena
Lena
This is Lena. I still don't know her last name, but on this trip I discovered that she's much more of a theatre person than I ever thought. She majored in Directing, she likes Brecht and Comedia / Masque work... woot!
Neil Wankoff
Neil Wankoff
This is Neail, photographing everyone else. Sorry I didn't get a better photo. I'd say more, except I think I'm supposed to be working just now...
Happy Campers
Happy Campers
Over on the right you can see Neil Wankoff and Ben Newton, who I never actually got a decent photo of. He was the person directly responsible for the trip, coordinating everything, making all of the arrangements, &c. He rocks.

Me, looking Goofy
Me, looking Goofy
I wore a tie every day. And a kilt.

Me again, looking dapper in my bow tie.
