2006-02-21 Drawring But that wasn't why I started writing here tonight. I wanted to show you all that I made a sketch of how to A/V will work at Triton. Wheee!

2006-02-21 Blood War Postponed Ultraviolet was moved back a week. I have decided to become obsessed about this movie (to the point of putting crappy images up and "myspacing" my own blog, but not the the point of buying Manic Panic just to get their free movie-related gift) and so you might think that I'm reading the graphic novels. I thought about it (both for this and, even more, for Vendetta). ... more->

2006-02-19 Wh I have to go to the theatre, but Wh is here in my lap and she is being cute--rolling around so that I can scratch her tummy, looking up at me, purring &c.

Maybe I could run the show from here?

2006-02-17 Tycho on Deep Thoughts Beautiful bit from Penny Arcade:
    There is a defense, however. Like the protagonist in Pi, I've long since drilled out some portion of that organ - the part that stays up all night in coffee shops talking about whether or not God wears white. That cortex is outta there. Or it's still there, but there's a cavern bored through it so that the things teenagers think are deep fall right out.

2006-02-16 The Matrix meets Crouching Tiger meets La Boheme I went to this event at Northwestern the other day, and had really now idea what I was getting into. It turned out to be the world premier of Eric Whitacre's techno-opera / obsession, Paradise Lost. I'd never heard of him before, but apparently to the legions of high school chorus members throughout the world he's a cross between and , with a touch of . He had... more->

2006-02-13 Tone Clusters Slide Show Mostly for me, but you're welcome to take a look, if you like. By the way, do you have any videos of violence that I could use for this? Riots, beat-downs, Rodney King, &c.?

Carl Slideshow. (The murderer? The Glick's son, at any rate.)

Woman Slideshow. (The victim. Found in the Glick's basement.)

2006-02-08 Now it's harder to write comments than ever! So now, if you want to add a comment to my beautiful, beautiful blog, there is an extra step required. There a word printed down there with random garbage stuck in to confuse the robots. Like this:

english! Simple, no? No. Ok, fair enough. I mean, some of you are still listed as "Anon." because it can't read your name in the name field. -sigh-.

Let me know if this doesn't work.

2006-02-08 Ugh. Ok, just filtering based on IP address isn't going to work, as they never seem to be the same twice. It is interesting to see where they come from (most recently the Computer Center of Sharif University of Technology, in Tehran, Iran) but this could be a huge drag.

Suggestions? I realize that filtering based on IP is very 1998, and that these days spammers attack from a huge army of zombie computers, but this is the first time I've have to implement a solution on my own.

I could add... more->

2006-02-06 18 days to go! My cousin decided to become obsessed about a movie once, a while ago. Nothing too unusual about that, except that he knew almost nothing about the movie in question. It was a foreign movie, hadn't yet been released in America, and it was an Art movie, to boot. I think he'd read a half-paragraph description, and felt that that was enough.

He kept a running countdown, as I recall, and made plans with me a month in advance to see it on opening day. He also made a scrapbook, with every image and review... more->
