Die Young. Live Forever.

Maybe everyone else already knows about this, and it had been at the back of my mind, but apparently there is a new musical... based on The Vampire Lestat. I think Interview with a Vampire was posssibly a better novel, and it was certainly the only really groundbreaking or interesting one, but Lestat is the only one I'd ever be tempted to read a second time.

On the other hand, music by Elton John, words by Bernie Taupin. On the other hand, I like Elton John and Bernie Taupin... still, shouldn't Lestat be more rockin'?

On the other, other, other hand, Dave McKean is the artistic director. I love his still art and his work on Mr. Punch, but I also really did not like his CG work in Mirrormask--I felt that it really took me out of the film. I'm all kinds of curious to learn what he'll do with live theatre. Very interesting...

On the final hand, I never saw any Broadway theatre even when I lived in the City, so it seems unlikely that I'll see this.
